Jocelyn Webb Pederson

Jocelyn's work is organic with a modern undertone. The modern dweller is attracted to her very simple and natural style pinch bowls which are a perfect place to keep your favorite pieces of jewelry. Her paintings are ultra simple with the cherry red paint drops, green irregular shaped flowers and pencil etchings of circles and scribbles. LOVE

Super Buzzy

Wow! What a fun find! Japanese Fabric and Craft Supply company called Super Buzzy that is super cute. Those Japanese companies make so many cute things. What's up with that? They must take cute pills of something? Sanrio, Shinzo Katoh, Pokemon etc. This fabric really takes me back to my childhood because every japanese exchange student we had come live with us (we had four exchange students over the course of 4 years) gave my family the cutest fabric - which i declared as my fabric that I still have hanging in the closet upstairs. Anyway, you can buy these great Novelty Charm Packs with 30 5'' Squares or a giant sushi roll of fabric with 500 pieces in the pack. A great way to play with an array of styles instead of committing to one style. They also have cute little buttons, trim, ribbon and kits. Check them out at www.superbuzzy.com

Mermaid Sighting

"Mom, is this real Mermaid skin?" "Of course it is!" These mermaid outfits were actually made with a glue gun only! Found the most perfect mermaid skin AKA as oil cloth downtown at Micheal Levine's and all the other trimmings downtown at Moskatals. FYI - hot glue adheres really well to oil cloth. Decorative trimmings on the outfit and headband include real shells, starfish, glittered and shiny plants, sticks and flowers. The star on the wand is a real starfish. My daughter isn't too attached though bc it's a bit fishy from living in the ocean. We are planning an underwater tea party soon. Keep you posted on the dates.

Destroyed by Design - Renegade Craft Fair

Wow.  I spent close to a half an hour in Destroyed By Design's booth at Renegade.  SO FUN. so simple.  I just couldn't make up my mind what plastic animal necklace to get.  Cut plastic with paper backdrop for the design - looks very similar to a shrinky dink.  Finally Sabine won, her an mommy are going to share a Unicorn necklace and Oliver picked out a Dino necklace for himself.  www.destroyedbydesign.com

Lil Sprinkles - Renegade Craft Fair

Renegade Craft Fair comes to Los Angeles. I've been wanting to fly to Chicago to attend the Renegade Craft Fair for the past few years and was finally able to see all the amazing handmade designs in my own backyard. Sabine (my daughter) was only five minutes in the door when she spotted Lil Sprinkles handmade dolls and hair ties. Sabine bought a pair of little kitty hair ties made with Japanese buttons and fabric. Check out more creations at www.lilsprinkles.etsy.com

Window Adornments

A beautiful organic project to enjoy for summertime lounging.  A very special jar was prepared with plain tea bags, fabric, glass beads, brass bells, silver prayer beads, wool balls, shells, paper and thread.  First paint the tea bags with watercolor paints and set to dry.  Thread all the goodies from the jar in a pattern of your choosing.  After you string 5-7 strands, tie them to a bamboo stick. Hang above a window, door or outside on the patio. Enjoy the BEAUTY!

Sequence Balls

Give your decorative push pins a second life.  This is a very fun project.  I just love the simple and brainless craft projects now and then.  All you need is styrofoam balls, decorative push pins, sequence, little cloth squares, tiny beads, buttons, felt pieces, vellum pieces.  All you do is make a pattern on the push pin, of your choosing with any of the supplies listed and push them into the styrofoam ball.  ie. cloth, bead, felt, bead, velum, sequence etc.  These balls are some serious eye candy and I can't wait to make more.
